Nene: Hi! My name is Nene, and, unlike the girl who wrote the paragraph below, I'm a real person. Dawn is just the Pokémon Trainer heroine from Pokémon Platinum and I'm, I hope you'll forgive the pun, a trainee. Specifically, an aspiring translator with a keen interest in texts targeted at children. Starting in a few months, I'll begin writing a thesis about the translation of a popular game intended for an audience of young girls. I've just begun playing the Italian translation of Pokémon Platinum, and I thought I'd compare the translation to the English original. In the locked posts in this journal, I will be writing my thoughts on the translator(s?) choices. Doesn't sound very interesting, huh? But for me, it is! *-*;; I believe that translation plays a really big part in determining the success of any product! Oh, and my main journal is psychic_irene . I remember it was the first thing I thought when I heard that the D/P heroine had been named "Dawn". XD

Dawn: Nice to meet you! My name is Dawn and I'm from Twinleaf Town. I love reading, watching Pokémon Contests on TV and, one day, I'll be the ruler of all Sinnoh thanks to my Pokémon partners! Hahah, not exactly, but almost. I really love my home region, you know. It's so full of history, and I never grow tired of its breathtaking mountain scenery. Wouldn't it be wonderful to climb up to the very top of the highest peak of Mt. Coronet and look down and see how everything looks so so tiny? Aah, but I digress! My best friend is Barry, my neighbor, but I can never quite keep up with his energy, even though I'm always very energetic myself! I also have a few online friends around Sinnoh. They're all older than me, though, and they're real experts when it comes to both Pokémon Contests and battling... Gaaah, I wish I could be like them! Tell you what, one day I'm going to be even better than they are! Just you watch!
